The contest "Students with S&IP Intellectual Property Rights" was held for the first time by the Center for Intellectual Property and Technology Transfer (IPTC) in collaboration with the National Office of Intellectual Property and a number of related entities. in 2020, and with great success, 8/10 projects participating in the contest have registered and established intellectual property rights (IP).

After that, the logo and format of the contest program were registered by the Organization Board for IP protection. S&IP 2020 has created a solid foundation for S&IP 2021 to continue to be organized. In the process of organizing the competition from S&IP 2020 to S&IP 2021, the NOIP has been and will always accompany the IPTC so that the competition is getting better and better, attracting a large number of students from schools in the southern region, making S&IP a big playground for scientific research and innovation activities of Southern students.

In response to the celebration of World IP Day 2021, the Contest takes the main topic of meaning in IP Day's message given by the World Intellectual Property Organization for the year 2021 "From idea to business." The Finals of the Contest will take place on September 2021.

Prize structure S&IP 2021 Contest includes 1 First prize (35 million VND), 1 Second prize (10 million VND), 1 Third prize (8 million VND), 2 Consolation prizes (5 million VND / prize) and 4 prizes Potentials (4 million VND / prize). In addition, 10 most popular project awards (voted online) each worth 500,000 VND; 1 International development potential project (Japan) with a total value of 20 million VND.

Winning projects after the contest also received support packages, such as IPTC's IPTC registration support package worth 20 million VND / project; Incubation package for startups by VNU Ho Chi Minh City Innovation and Innovation Center worth 100 million VND / project / year; Amazon Web Services (AWS) support package worth $ 2,000 / project / year; and Startup Advisory Package in Japan.

On behalf of the Organization Board, Mr. Tran Le Hong, Deputy Director of the NOIP officially launched the Contest "Students with S&IP Intellectual Property Rights 2021."

The launching ceremony of the contest was held concurrently during the ITPC's 10th Anniversary. With outstanding efforts during the past 10 years, IPTC has made positive contributions to science and technology management, intellectual property management, and promoting technology transfer based on IP rights, contributing to the implementation of an important goal in the S&T development strategy of the National University of Ho Chi Minh City for the period of 2021 - 2025. So far, the National University of Ho Chi Minh City has become one of the leading units in the national education system in terms of number of applications and patents, utility solutions.
