With 28 patents granted in Vietnam, 4 inventions recognized and protected in the US by the end of March 2021, Viettel High Technology Industry Corporation (VHT) is the unit with the highest number of patents most recognized Viettel Military Industry-Telecommunications Group. Sharing with Vietnam Quality Online/VietQ.vn, Mr. Nguyen Cuong Hoang affirmed that this achievement comes from the fact that the unit has long focused on intellectual property protection.

As the owner of many patented inventions, surely VHT has the secret?

This is the result of 10 years of preparation for the stages of people, technology, infrastructure. We develop based on VTOPIC - very basic orientations in research that the Group has mastered and is famous for Highlights are technology, infrastructure, people and openness.

In terms of infrastructure, the Group has invested hundreds of billions of dong for research infrastructure including laboratories, tools and simulation software over the past 10 years. Up to now, we can confirm that we have the most modern lab system in Vietnam, and the most modern in Southeast Asia.

The most important is the human factor which we have paid special attention to the early days of establishment. VHT recruits talented engineers from Polytechnic University and in this team, more than 30% of them have doctorates and masters from abroad, not to mention leading international experts. We have experts sitting in the US, Singapore, Taiwan and experts sitting in Vietnam.

Intellectual property is essentially an accumulation process. The number of intellectual property patents reflects the strength of a technology company. VHT and Viettel are in the process of accumulating.

Every year, our goal is to have between 50 and 100 new intellectual property registered nationally and internationally. Accumulated up to now, we have 245 registered patents in our country and if we add 50 more this year, it will be about 300. Overseas, specifically in the US, it is 27, this year our goal should increase from 35 to 40.
