Mr. Phan Tan Thanh - Director of Ca Mau Department of Science and Technology said that Ca Mau currently has 14 protected products in the form of certification trademarks and 02 products certified with geographical indications, namely Ca Mau black tiger shrimp and crab. Currently, the province is implementing 01 national-level project on building a geographical indication of Ca Mau blood cockle and 01 provincial-level project on geographical indication of Ca Mau Mui brown fish; At the same time, advise to register with the National Office of Intellectual Property 01 national-level project to develop geographical indications for Thoi Binh - Ca Mau giant freshwater prawns in 2023.

At the workshop, the delegates discussed and found solutions to manage and develop intellectual property in order to remove the province's limitations, difficulties and obstacles in developing the brand associated with the value chain for the main products of the province. At the same time, the delegates also proposed a number of key solutions to be implemented in the coming time, such as investigating and assessing the need for equipment and technology innovation for businesses and product manufacturing facilities. OCOP products have been protected in the province; strengthen inspection, examination, control and strictly handle acts of infringing upon intellectual property rights.
