Previously, rubbers in Lai Chau used to move from south-west region. Because of different weather conditions affected transportation process that damaged, impaired rate of rubbers and lead to high investment costs  than other regions.

In addition, weather condition in North-West is not ideal to develop rubbers, because of long cold-dry season, elevation of 400-600 m required a cold-proof variety.

For that reason, Mr. Cuong suggested to build a cold-proof seed of rubber including 2 varieties VNg 77-2 and Yan 873 that aimed to create a sustainable variety resource.

In 2012, Lai Chau II Rubber Joint Stock Company produced 124.000 cold-proof rubber seeds with the price of 7.200 VND/seed, accounted for 1/3 compared to the price in the marker form 25.000-35.000/seed, saved 3,3 billions VND.

In 2013, the company produced 35.000 cold-proof rubber seeds for sale in the local region that offered 1,5 billion VND.

In the future, Lai Chau II Rubber Joint Stock Company will continue to expand the cold-proof variety of rubbers in order to meet the market’s demands.  This is a specific variety that only suit  in North-West, and North-East.
