Putting foreign mushroom varieties into cultivation to help Vietnamese farmers enrich
Agronomists came up with foreign mushroom varieties for researching and testing in order to improve quality and productivity of mushroom that helped Vietnamese farmers enrich.

Mushroom cultivation farms are always full of guests who wait to order mushrooms from farmers. This is the mushroom pilot farm of Vietnam Agricultural Genetic Institute, located on Kim Lien commune, Van Giang district, Hung Yen province.

Engineer Nguyen Thi Son, project leader of KC04.DA05/06-10 “Perfecting mushroom cultivation technology oriented industrialization in order to serve domestic and foreign consumption” said, having tons of mushroom monthly, but they still have not enough quantity to supply for the markets

Unlike common mushrooms sold in the markets, Pearl fungi, King scallops fungi, Enokitake have better and brittle taste, rich protein and amino acids and so on ensuring hygiene without preservatives.

This female scientist said, for a common farmer, he or she can monthly make about 2 tons of mushroom, offers 6-12 million VND.

Particularly in remote regions, appropriate climate for raising mushroom and straw materials, such as wood, sawdust, straw etc in stead of burning these materials, every ton of straw the farmer can earn 7 million VND.

Expanding mushroom raising model in remote regions could help to break rice monoculture, enrich the land. This is the main purpose of scientists who come from Vietnam Agricultural Genetic Institute.
