The Prime Minister has just issued the National Strategy on Artificial Intelligence Research, Development and Application until 2030.

The strategy aims to promote research, development and application of artificial intelligence, making artificial intelligence an important technology field of Vietnam in the Fourth Industrial Revolution. By 2030, Vietnam will become a center of innovation, developing solutions and applying artificial intelligence in the ASEAN region and around the world.

The goal by 2030 will bring artificial intelligence to become an important technology sector of Vietnam; striving for Vietnam to be among the top 4 countries in the ASEAN region and the group of 50 leading countries in the world in research, development and application of artificial intelligence; built 10 prestigious artificial intelligence brands in the region.

Developed 03 national centers for large data storage and high-performance computing; connecting data center systems, high-performance computing centers in the country to create a network to share large data and compute capacity for artificial intelligence.

Forming 50 sets of open, linked and connected data in economic sectors, socio-economic fields serving research, development and application of artificial intelligence.

By 2030, Vietnam will form three national innovation centers for artificial intelligence; have at least 01 representative in the ranking of the top 20 artificial intelligence research and training institutions in the ASEAN region.

To achieve the above objectives, the strategy provides the following orientations: Build a system of legal documents and legal corridors related to artificial intelligence; developing artificial intelligence ecosystems; promote the application of artificial intelligence; promote international cooperation in the field of artificial intelligence.
