From 8/2018, Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee issued a decision to approve the implementation plan of the project on incubating Vietnamese microchip enterprises and equipment and solutions for the period of 2017-2020 and assigned it to the high-tech business incubator (SHTP- IC) is the implementation unit with the management of the Ho Chi Minh City High-Tech Park (SHTP), Ho Chi Minh City Department of Science and Technology City implemented. Over the course of operation, the commercialization of products from incubation projects has made great progress. The incubation project has attracted 19 projects in the microchip field to participate and 100% of the projects are supported with registration and certification of intellectual property, 10 enterprises are certified with science and technology enterprises.

Up to now, the microchip industry has put into application in lighting equipment, products, such as vehicle tracking equipment, motorbikes, electronic galvanometers, data collection equipment. Applications in pressure sensor products used to measure water level in warning against flooding, traffic congestion warning. Or application in AI camera system to analyze images used in traffic, microchips in water and air environment monitoring equipment. Especially, in the context of smart city construction and development, the application of microchips in the safety and security devices of the system is also  larger and diversified demand.

In addition, the health care, education and public health care sectors through the smart medical system, remote diagnosis and warning system, environmental pollution warning system, food safety, high-tech agriculture through the application of automatic technology to take care of plants from afar have made a practical contribution to improving the quality of life of people. The total annual revenue of projects participating in the microchip industry development program is nearly 20 billion VND.
