Vietnam supports the development of a global legal agreement to address the problem of plastic pollution
Currently, plastic pollution is considered a very serious environmental challenge. Therefore, Vietnam and other member countries support the development of a legally binding global agreement to resolve this issue.

The INC-4 meeting in Ottawa, Canada aims to finalize a global agreement to eliminate plastic pollution. Vietnam and other countries support the development of a legally binding agreement to reduce plastic pollution. The goal is to reach a comprehensive compromise before the final session in South Korea later this year.

Plastic pollution campaigner Anthony Merante of Oceana Canada says plastic pollution is an urgent issue that cannot be delayed. Vietnam supports solving this problem but needs to consider the responsibilities and development capabilities of each country. Plastic production has increased dramatically, with only 9% being recycled. Immediate action is needed to prevent the negative impact of plastic pollution on the environment and global economy.
