Speaking at the opening of the workshop, Mr. Vo Quang Lam - Deputy General Director of EVN said, in the context that the power system is facing supply difficulties, especially in the Northern region, it is important to continue developing rooftop solar power is absolutely necessary.

Mr. Vo Quang Lam respectfully thanked the meaningful and effective cooperation of the German Development Cooperation Organization with Vietnam Electricity Group in recent times. EVN hopes to share and exchange many valuable experiences and lessons from Germany, as well as other countries in developing policies, operating and regulating rooftop solar power systems.

Mr. Nathan Moore - Director of rooftop solar power projects in the commercial and industrial sector (of GIZ) affirmed: This organization is ready to support EVN, as well as Vietnam's state management agencies in providing appropriate recommendations to promote the development of rooftop solar power in the future.

At the workshop, delegates exchanged and discussed in-depth issues, such as lessons for developing rooftop solar power in the world, experiences in calculating rooftop solar power price frames, development policies. Developing self-consumed rooftop solar power, etc.

Up to now, Vietnam has developed 103,720 rooftop solar power systems, with a total capacity of about 9,602 MWp, accounting for about 10% of the installed capacity of the national power system. Renewable energy projects in general and rooftop solar power in particular have contributed positively, adding supply to Vietnam's electricity system in recent times.
