Minister Huynh Thanh Dat worked with the National Office of Intellectual Property of Vietnam
In the afternoon of May 7, at the headquarters of the Ministry of Science and Technology, Mr. Huynh Thanh Dat - Member of the Central Committee of the Party, Secretary of the Civil Affairs Committee, Minister of Science and Technology worked with the Department of Intellectual Property of Vietnam (IP).


Reporting at the meeting, comrade Dinh Huu Phi said that in the period of 2016-2020, the NOIP's activities are increasingly linked to the activities of the Government, the Ministry of Science and Technology, ministries / sectors and localities, IP becomes an effective tool for S&T development, Innovation  and socio-economic development; The system of IP policies and laws has been increasingly completed, facilitating the state management on IP and the establishment of rights of subjects. In particular, the Prime Minister's promulgation of the IP Strategy to 2030 and the effective implementation of the Intellectual Property Development Program has helped enhance the role and position of IP and S&T in ministries, sectors and localities. For the establishment of industrial property rights (IP), the number of applications filed with the National Office of Intellectual Property of Vietnam increased by an average of 10% per year, the result of processing IP applications increased by over 7% per year, of which patent applications increased by about 22% each year. Compared to the previous period, the number of IP protection certificates issued increased by over 30%, of which Patent Patents increased by 108%, Industrial Design Patents increased by 55.2% and Geographical Indication Certificates 130% increase. Intellectual integration and international cooperation have actively contributed to the implementation of the country's foreign affairs. Vietnam's reputation, position and role in international IP forums have been enhanced. Other aspects of the National Office of Intellectual property of Vietnam, such as research, training and dissemination of knowledge about IP; promoting the use of IP information for scientific research, technology development and innovation; supporting the enforcement of IP rights; State management of IP expertise and representation; administrative procedure reform, etc. be guaranteed, deployed fully, synchronously, met the requirements of the society.

Minister Huynh Thanh Dat wishes the collective of Party Committee, leaders, civil servants, officials and employees of the NOIP to unite, agree, create, join forces, and unanimously complete the tasks assigned by Government and leaders of the Ministry of Science and Technology.
