Detecting architectural ruins of the Ly age in Nam Dinh

National History Museum collaborated with Nam Dinh Culture, Sport and Tourism Department to announce preliminary exploration results, archaeological excavations at the area of Phuong Nhi mountain under relics of Chuong Son stupa, Yen Loi commune, Y Yen district.

In April and May, 2012, an excavation team found an architectural hexagon ruin with six edges, five background levels that built carefully.
Through researching reins and materials of construction, the excavation team thought that the architecture was built by reusing materials in the Ly age.
For relics, the excavation team also gained a lot of materials and architectural decoration of date Ly and Tran with many materials, different types included architectural materials, terracotta, ceramics, stone, copper wire, coins, lead fishes.
According to Dr. Nguyen Dinh Chien - Deputy Director of the National History Museum, the obtained results allowed to identify religious relics of the Ly age with a very large scale. |
