Under the framework of this cooperation, two sides agreed to jointly develop wind farms (study area) in Huong Linh commune in Huong Hoa district of Quang Tri province.
According to the National Power Development Plan for the period of 2011-2020, the Government has came up with a target of bringing the total wind power capacity up to 800 MW by 2020, to 2,000 MW by 2020 by 2025 and ~ 6,000 MW by 2030. THC Company will cooperate with Vestas to research the potential of the research area and propose a total potential capacity.
Accordingly, based on the progress of infrastructure development, the research area will be developed periodically through six sub-projects with a minimum capacity of 30MW. Both companies will conduct wind research and locations to select turbine location for subprojects.
At the signing ceremony, Mr. Mai Van Hue, President of THC Company said that the research area is planned with an area of nearly 2,900 ha. This area is bordered by Laos, hilly, sunny and windy terrain all year round, sparsely populated. "We committed to deploying the most advanced wind turbine technologies and models, aiming to achieve the highest efficiency. Therefore, we decided to cooperate with Vestas to carry out this project, "he said. |
