The lights do not need electricity
This type of device can be installed on the roof, thanks to the mechanism of focusing sunlight, it will help to illuminate the house without using electricity. At the same time, with the transmission mechanism, focused light will be brought to all floors through the light pipes in the same system. This system can be combined with an electric lighting system in place of use, so there is no need to add ceiling area for two separate lighting systems.

According to Dr. Nguyen Tran Thuat, Hanoi University of Natural Science, Vietnam National University, lighting equipment without electricity by his team has just been patented by the National Office of Intellectual Property of Vietnam.

The author's group in the exclusive patent includes Dr. Nguyen Tran Thuat, Center for Nano and Energy; Dr. Hoang Chi Hieu, Department of Physics; Nguyen Quang Quan and Ho Duc Quan, former bachelor of science and physics talent class K58, University of Natural Sciences, Hanoi National University, and Assoc.Prof.Dr. Nguyen Hoang Hai, Hanoi National University.

The device has also been announced for patent registration in the US in April 2018 and is in the process of content examination before being granted a patent.

A patent in Vietnam is called "Converged lenses connected to optical fibers and sunlight receiving devices using this lens."

So far, the team has taken an important step forward, designed for a fluid using system, in a transparent container, instead of a solid plastic. As a result, it is cheaper, more convenient, easy to replace and maintain; While plastic can be damaged, aging in the sun, replacement or recycling costs more.
