Attending the Forum, there were Vietnamese Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Dang Hoang An, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Energy of Thailand Kulit Sombatsiri and delegates from the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Vietnam, the Ministry of Energy of Thailand, relevant departments and agencies, enterprises in the energy industry of the two countries.

For many years, energy cooperation has been a matter of particular importance in the cooperation relationship between Vietnam and Thailand. Since the first Vietnam-Thailand Energy Forum was held in Binh Dinh province in 2015, the cooperation between the two countries in the energy field has had many very positive and remarkable results.

Speaking at the opening of the Forum, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Energy of Thailand Kulit Sombatsiri said: “This forum will focus on exchanging information on the national energy policies of each country. At the same time, the two sides will also discuss investment and trade opportunities in the energy sector. On behalf of the Ministry of Energy and Thai businesses, Mr. Kulit thanked the Vietnamese side for their active support and hoped that this Forum would once again be a good opportunity for both sides to discuss further cooperation between the two countries at both government and business levels.

For his part, Deputy Minister Dang Hoang An affirmed the importance of the energy cooperation relationship with Thailand and emphasized that the organization of the 2nd Vietnam-Thailand Energy Forum is a necessary and timely and meaningful action in the context that the global energy industry has faced many difficulties in the past time, helping the two sides enhance mutual understanding about each country's energy cooperation needs, exchange and solve problems of common interests, helping to strengthen the partners in the energy sector, contributing to promoting the enhanced Strategic Partners since 2015 between the two countries.
