Completing the TCVN system on wind power, promoting the development of green energy sources
With the current development of wind power, it is necessary to have national standards to consider and evaluate the safety and quality of wind power projects in general and wind turbines in particular to avoid installing unsafe wind turbines. Safety and quality poses operational risks.

Wind power, also known as wind power, is one of the renewable energy sources that the government is interested in. Increasing electricity production from wind energy can contribute to climate protection by reducing the greenhouse effect. A 15MW wind generator can help reduce the annual CO2 emissions of 45,000 tons that a coal-fired power plant can emit.

Vietnam has over 3200 km of coastline, so there are many favorable conditions for exploiting wind energy. According to the assessment of wind energy potential in Southeast Asia by the World Meteorological Organization, Vietnam is the country with the best wind energy potential.

The Government issued Decision No. 37/2011/QD-TTg dated June 29, 2011 on the mechanism to support the development of wind power projects in Vietnam and Decision No. 39/2018/QD-TTg dated September 10. /208 amending and supplementing a number of articles of Decision No. 37/2011/QD-TTg, in which the adjusted electricity price is increased, specifically: Mainland wind power price: 1,927 VND/kWh; Price of wind power at sea: 2,223 VND/kWh. The above electricity prices apply to wind power projects partially or fully operated before November 1, 2021.

In addition, at present, the TCVN system still lacks standards related to: Design requirements for small wind turbines, offshore wind turbines; Design requirements for wind turbine components, such as turbine blades, towers and foundations; Methods for measuring and evaluating performance of wind turbines; Wind power plant control and control methods, etc.

Thus, it is necessary to complete the TCVN system on wind power generation systems to ensure the safety and quality of the wind power generation system, promote wind energy development, reduce dependence on fossil energy, improve structure of the energy sector, ensuring energy security, mitigating climate change, protecting the environment and sustainable socio-economic developing.
