Specifically, according to Decision No. 741/QD-UBND signed on February 24, 2022, Thanh Hoa People's Committee has allowed the use of the place "Nga Son" to register the collective trademark "Mai An Tiem Watermelon" - Nga Son specialties."

The People's Committee of Nga Son district is responsible for directing the Mai An Tiem Watermelon Festival, Nga Son district, Thanh Hoa province to implement and register the collective trademark "Mai An Tiem Watermelon - Nga Son specialty" in accordance with regulations of current law.

Thanh Hoa Provincial People's Committee assigns Chief of Office of Provincial People's Committee, Directors of Departments: Science and Technology, Industry and Trade, Agriculture and Rural Development; Chairman of Nga Son District People's Committee; Chairman of the Mai An Tiem Watermelon Association, Nga Son district, Thanh Hoa province and the heads of relevant agencies and units are responsible for the implementation of this Decision.

It is known that Nga Phu commune, Nga Son district (Thanh Hoa) today, thousands of years ago, was a deserted island emerging in the middle of the vast sea, associated with the legend of Mai An Tiem - who openly destruction and construction of the coastal land of Nga Son, also a famous watermelon grower.

This area has been associated with the watermelon growing profession of the people of Nga Son, Thanh Hoa throughout history. However, it was not until 2003 that watermelons were grown locally.

Today, on the land of Nga Phu and some neighboring communes, there are many places associated with Mai An Tiem. Where the island is called An Tiem beach, the mountain used to be a desert island, and the people named it Mai An Tiem mountain. The stone cave is said to be the residence of Mai An Tiem's family when they first set foot on this place called Mai An Tiem mountain cave. In Mai An Tiem's old house, a temple was built to worship him and his wife. The people who followed the work of the An Tiem couple on the island were more and more crowded every day. They established Mai An village and Mai An Tiem watermelon is a famous product in Nga Son.

Experiencing natural events and the ups and downs of history, many places associated with An Tiem have changed. The temple worshiping Mai An Tiem was completely ruined, many worshiping objects were damaged. By 1990, the local government and people had contributed, together with the support of the State, rebuilt the temple on the old foundation.

Every year, from the 12th to the 15th day of the 3rd lunar month, at Mai An Tiem temple, Nga Phu commune, Nga Son district, the government and people in the region organize a festival with many rich and attractive forms in it. It is indispensable for the image of a watermelon to arouse Mai An Tiem's tradition of hard work, creativity, self-reliance, perseverance and love for the motherland.
