Speaking at the opening of the Conference, Mr. Ha Minh Hiep, Acting Director General of the Directorate for Standards, Metrology and Quality, highly appreciated JSC EEE's efforts in implementing the ASEAN Mutual Recognition Agreement on electricity and electronics (ASEAN EE MRA) and the Agreement on Harmonization of Electrical and Electronic Equipment Regulatory Regime (AHEEEERR) aim to remove technical barriers to trade in electrical and electronic equipment and enhance cooperation between ASEAN management agencies in this field.

As of 2023, there are 14 testing laboratories and 08 certification organizations designated according to the ASEAN EE MRA and recognized by the importing country. In addition, JSC EEE has harmonized 119 ASEAN standards on electricity and electronics and considered unifying the common conformity assessment mechanism for 6 electrical and electronic devices including: electric fans, electric irons, and rice cookers, refrigerator, washing machine, TV. The AHEEERR Information Booklet (Information Booklet) was also approved by ACCSQ in early 2023 to provide guidance and mechanisms for implementing AHEEERR.

During the 3-day conference, JSC EEE will continue to consider appointing conformity assessment organizations within the ASEAN EE MRA framework and agree on the scope of 06 products being considered for implementation of AHEEERR, and consider Complete the process of appointing a conformity assessment organization according to AHEEERR.
