Researchers in the Department of Chemistry and Center for Environmental Technology and Sustainable Development (University of Natural Sciences, Hanoi National University) and Center for Advanced Environmental Technology (Ehime University) have just announced "Polyurethane foam-based passive air sampling for simultaneous determination of POP- and PAH-related compounds: A case study in informal waste processing and urban areas, northern Vietnam” Passive air sampling with polyurethane foam for simultaneous determination of two compounds related to POP and PAH) in Chemospher, Elservier pulisher magazine's 5,108.

The results of the study show that potential sources of organic pollutants in particular have dioxin-like properties, such as PCBs, PAHs, Me-PAHs emitted during the repair of expired or used motorbikes some components of other old vehicles, such as waste oil, tires etc as well as the emission of PCBs and PBDEs polluting the current urban areas in Vietnam. This will be one of the studies that need to be done in developing countries where there are a lot of pollution due to urbanization and unregulated waste recycling activities.
